Joint projects of the Fund Forum with public organizations of Austria

Tight collaboration of the Fund Forum with public organizations of Austria commenced after the visit to Vienna of Uzbek delegation headed by Dr. Gulnara Karimova, Deputy Foreign Minister for International Cooperation in Cultural and Humanitarian Spheres on April 12-19, 2008.

On March 31, 2009 Fund Forum signed Memorandum of cooperation with the Austrian Association of Retirees for further development of joint projects in tourism, cultural exchange and education are scheduled in cooperation.

In the course of this visit several meetings were held:

  • in the Ministry of Health, Family and Youth,
  • in the Ministry of Social Care and Customer Rights Protection,
  • with the representatives of VAMED company,
  • with the representatives of Austria Travel Agencies Association,
  • with the representatives of Karitas, the major Austrian Charity organization,
  • with the representatives of business circles of Austria.

Joint projects and agreements

Agreements with Karitas Charity organization on exchange programs to upgrade skills of representatives of Uzbek NGOs, to study working methods on social professions training in Austria.

Cooperation with Austria Pensioners Association for the purpose of organizing tours to Uzbekistan for retired citizens of Austria.

Within the bounds of the signed agreement on cooperation between Uzbekistan and Austrias Science Academies, the Fund Forum invited (May 2008) Dr. Markus Ritter, Deputy Director of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, to Uzbekistan;

On 14 October 2008 an international conference on Social initiatives in the sphere of popularization of healthy maternity and childhood in Uzbekistan (SISF) was held with the participation of VAMED company;

On October 15, 2008 the Exhibition of works by Austrian artist Michael Fuchs was held within the third Style.uz Week of Design and Fashion;

Georg Springer, the Executive Director of Bundestheater Holding visited selection rounds of Yangi Avlod Festival;

An exchange of teachers and masters of colleges of both countries has been discussed within the meeting with Jolanta Ziegfried, Director of Choreography College under the Vienna State Opera.

March 2009. The Chairman of the Austrian Retirees Association, Karl Blecha and the Director of Senioren Reizen Tour Company, Otto Späll, paid a visit to Uzbekistan. At this point, the two sides are discussing the organizations of trips to Uzbekistan by Austrian retired people and the singing of a cooperation memorandum between Kelajak Tur Bureau for International Youth Tourism and Cooperation and Senioren Reizen.

On July 3, 2009 the presentation of culture and arts of Uzbekistan was held in one of the most beautiful buildings of Europe - in the palace of the Vienna City Hall. Organizers: the Fund Forum with the support of Municipality of Vienna, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Austria. In the event «Tashkent: yesterday and today» photo exhibition devoted to the 2200th anniversary of the Uzbek capital was opened and the evening program also presented a concert program by the masters of national musical art, as well as young talents identified by the Fund Forum during the annual projects, such as “Yangi Avlod” the Festival of Children's Creativity, “Kelajak Ovozi” the Republican contest of talented youth.

October 18, 2009. Tashkent hosted a personal exhibition of the Austrian artist Reinhard Brandner, an honorable guest of Art Week Style.uz. The exhibition was held as part of the International Biennale of Contemporary Art.

November 18-21, 2009. Regional Director of SonoSite, a foremost producer of medical equipment, Helmut Babler visited Uzbekistan and discussed with the Uzbek side prospects of providing treatment for 2 to 3 seriously ill children from Uzbekistan as well as surgeries in a hospital in Vienna. At this point the sides are deciding upon the dates on which to send the children for treatment to Austria.
