The two main points - a charity concert and special grants for talented children - originally were listed in Stings program, who arrived in Tashkent in the last days of Style.uz Art Week. The charitable nature of the singers visit was marked by Gulnara Karimova, who invited him to participate in the event and is well known as a philanthropist and organizer of charitable events and projects.
Sting's first acquaintance with Uzbekistan went off through communication with bright talented children - winners of "Yangi Avlod" Children's Creativity Festival (New Generation) and Kelajak ovozi" National contest of talented youth (Voice of the future). In a relaxed atmosphere, children calmly overcame shyness in front of the worldwide star and have demonstrated their talents, once again proving the title of the young winners of the Fund Forums competitions. Five of them immediately received certificates of special grants from artists hands.
Later in the evening more than two thousand spectators could see Sting's. Someone was a witness of the action, sitting in the building of the Alisher Navoi State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, where, in fact, the concert was held with special professional acoustics, which the Theatre has in full. And, many more thousands of spectators watched the whole concert on LED screens specially installed in front of the Theatre. It was a real drive! The live broadcast of Stings concert in the open air! Moreover, to have a long sit in soft chairs during his concert still does not work. So the second part of the concert, and especially the last three performances an encore the audience listened in standing and dancing position.
And contrary to attacks of some media, it was not blah blah blah, but a real charity concert. Evidence of this is, firstly, that part of the seats were given at no cost to participants and winners of the Fund Forums youth and children's competitions and festivals, as well as young activists and volunteers who are regularly involved in projects of the Foundation, and Uzbekistans honored figures of Art and Culture. Secondly, it has already been officially announced that all money raised from ticket sales would go to various charitable projects and grants programs, regularly conducted by the Fund Forum.
