Gulnara has established and patronized a number of public cultural and charity organizations well-known in Uzbekistan as well as far beyond. In this regard her name is often associated with the creation of a modern model of social projects and the accumulation of charitable undertakings in the country.
Children's and youth competitions and festivals of the national scale, development of rural and urban hospitals, schools and kindergartens, projects at international level, including exhibitions, foreign presentations of the national arts and traditions, cultural, scientific and economic forums and conferences are conducted under her guidance. She is also known as the creator and designer of the brand «GULI».
Over the six years of their operation, the foundations patronized by Gulnara Karimova have catered to over 4 million citizens of Uzbekistan. In tribute to Avicenna and his outstanding contributions to modern medicine, the Fund Forum, Abu Ali Ibn Sina (Avicenna) International Association of Traditional Medicine and the Women`s Council – organizations headed by Gulnara Karimova – with support from the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan organized on August 24 an International Scientific and Practical Conference “Avicenna`s Teachings and Modern Medicine”. This year marks the 1030th anniversary of the outstanding thinker, scholar and physician.

On August 23, Gulnara Karimova, the Chairperson of the Fund Forum`s Board of Trustees awarded young artists and masters of applied art, who have emerged as laureates of Navqiron O`zbekiston (Young Uzbekistan) Festival of Traditional and Contemporary Art, a project that enables young artists in Uzbekistan to showcase their creative endeavors. The winners in eight categories received diplomas, statuettes and prizes. Also, many of the participants received incentive prizes.

Around 500 people came together to attend the opening ceremony of Navqiron O`zbekiston (Young Uzbekistan) Festival of Traditional and Contemporary Art, which has helped discover and support young artists and masters of applied art for several years now. This festival - a brainchild of Gulnara Karimova - is held by the Fund Forum and the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan every two years and draws young talents from all over Uzbekistan. This year over 1,000 works are on display at Tashkent`s Youth Creativity Palace from August 16 to September 16.

On August 12, International Youth Day, the United National Information Centre (UNIC) in Uzbekistan and the UNFPA announced that Kelajak ovozi (Voice of the future) Talented Youth Contest is the best youth project. A brainchild of Gulnara Karimova and launched in 2005, the contest is the largest-scale and most popular youth project in Uzbekistan, which has covered over 200 thousand boys and girls across the country. Those who emerge as winners receive substantial support in the achievement of creative and professional goals. Also, Mehr Nuri (Ray of mercy) Foundation which allocates grants and scholarships for talented students, also established by Gulnara Karimova, was given an award recognizing the foundations contributions to the improvement of the youths social status.
